Jacob woke up the other night at about 2am. I settled him down and headed back to the bedroom. Then I noticed my outside cats were up and hungry so I decided to feed them. Then I saw a strange looking bug on the screen of the window. I was wondering "WHAT is that!" so I ran and got my camera (it was dark) and after a few snaps of the camera and it's flash I realized.... OH.... it's just your friendly neighborhood praying manits! So I left the poor guy alone!
Someone please tell me what this is. I noticed outside just now. Couldn't tell what it was and got a closer look. Not to close yet though. Then I started counting it's legs.... more than 10???? What??? Then it started crawling up the wall and I noticed it had it's baby on it's back!!!!! AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW............ Now it just suddenly became cute!! What kind of insect cares for it's young this way??? Got me all warm and fussy inside. Now I just want to know what it is. If you know please let me know! UPDATE: Upon further investigation I've found out that this is a walking stick and that IS NOT a baby on it's back!!!!! Yea, No more stupid questions from me after this!
I haven't seen many new bugs lately and the ones I do see it's to hard to get a photo of, BUT I'm getting out there and trying! LOL! They are cutting down a ton of trees across the street, that always brings the crazy bugs over to our yard!! YAY!
Hey everyone! Just like my page says, this is a place where you can look at all the neat looking critters I have come across since moving to Texas. There are some strange looking critters, pretty critters, creepy critters, and more! I come across so many different bugs I thought I'd make a blog to document them. Hope you enjoy!!
